On occasion a borrower may wish to hide some personal information from other borrowers on their deal. Borrowers can choose to hide certain income sources, assets, and properties from other borrowers in the application. When information is hidden, that will be displayed on the broker's portal so the broker can clearly see which information that borrower has chosen not to share with the other borrower(s) and know not to share that.

When a borrower invites another borrower to the application, the following will be displayed:

What information can be hidden by a borrower on a deal?

Please note: Brokers cannot choose to hide information for a borrower or from a borrower. Borrowers themselves must make that choice in the actual application.

Income

If a borrower wishes to hide all or some of their income from other borrower(s) on their deal, they can choose to do so on their application by selecting "Yes" when asked if they wish to hide it. When this is checked, other borrowers will only be able to see their own income information.

Assets

If a borrower wishes to hide all or some of their assets from other borrower(s) on their deal, they can choose to do so on their application by selecting "Yes" when asked if they wish to hide that information When this is checked, other borrowers will only be able to see their own assets in the application.

Properties

If a borrower wishes to hide all or some of their properties from other borrower(s) on their deal, they can choose to do so on their application by selecting "Yes" when asked if they wish to hide that information When this is checked, other borrowers will only be able to see their own properties in the application.

What does the borrower hiding information see in their application portal?

As you can see in this example, the borrower (Mariana Test) has chosen to hide some assets from the other borrower on the deal, and a property. The following is displayed to the original borrower who chose to hide that information so they are aware it was hidden when logging back into the application.

If they wish to change unhide the information, they can click on "Edit details' and select "No" when asked if the information should be hidden from other borrowers.

What does the invited borrower(s) see when information is hidden from them?

As you can see from the above example, the first borrower hid the RBC bank account in the "Assets"' section of the deal, but chose to share the vehicle asset. The other borrower(s) on the deal would only be shown what was not hidden in that section.

As well, that new borrower also can choose to hide certain income sources, assets, and properties from other borrowers in this application.

In the Review and submit" section of their application, only info not hidden and/or their own personal info will be displayed.

What does the broker see when a borrower has chosen to hide information from other borrowers on the deal?

The following message will display on every section in the broker's deal on Finmo where the borrower has chosen to hide information from other borrowers:

The deal can then be submitted as usual to a lender and no information will be hidden.
