🔄 Automate Welcome Emails with Finmo and Zapier (1-Step Zap)

Save time and increase your client engagement by sending an automatic email when a new application is started in Finmo. This guide walks you through setting up a simple one-step Zap using Zapier to send personalized emails without lifting a finger.


✅ What You’ll Need

  • A Zapier account (free for up to 5 one-step Zaps)

  • Your Finmo account

  • Access to your email provider (e.g., Gmail, Outlook)


🚀 Step-by-Step Setup

1. Trigger: Application Started in Finmo

  1. In Zapier, click “Create Zap.”

  2. Choose Finmo as the trigger app.

  3. Select “Application Started” as the trigger event.

Connect your Finmo account:

  1. In Finmo, go to Team Settings > Integrations > Generate Token.

  2. Copy the API token.

  3. Paste it into Zapier when prompted.

2. Set Up the Email Action

  1. Choose your email app (e.g., Gmail).

  2. Set the recipient to the Borrower Email Address (Zapier will pull this from Finmo).

  3. Customize your email:

    • From Name: Your name or business name.

    • Subject: e.g., “Thanks for signing up!”

  1. Body:

    Hello {{Borrower First Name}},

    Thank you for signing up for my mortgage application.

    If we haven’t yet spoken about your mortgage financing goals, feel free to reply or book a meeting via my calendar [Insert Link].

    My team and I are here to help you every step of the way.

    [Your Signature]

3. Test and Turn It On

  • Run a test to ensure it works (Zapier will show a green checkmark ✅).

  • Review the test email in your inbox.

  • Once it looks good, name your Zap (e.g., AppStarted Email) and turn it on.
